Erection All Risk Insurance is a comprehensive engineering insurance policy designed to cover risks associated with the erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of plant, machinery, and mechanical structures at a project site. It protects against sudden and unforeseen physical losses or damages caused by perils such as fire, earthquake, flood, landslide, storm, theft, and accidental incidents during erection, testing, and commissioning stages.
The policy generally covers the fully erected value of the project and may also be extended to include additional protections such as third-party liability and escalation costs.
EAR policy can be obtained by project principals, contractors, subcontractors, as well as lenders such as banks and financial institutions.
